Travelling is our passion and we normally take a few trips every year. In 2020, the first year
of the pandemic, we were getting a little "hut happy" because of restricted travel.
In the fall, instead of our usual more exotic trips, we decided to rent a cottage in Bayfield, Ontario where we could self-isolate
as well as we could at home. We enjoyed the getaway so much that we made it an annual
tradition.
Every year, we schedule the trip for mid September when the crowds of tourists have thinned out. In 2020, we rented a cottage called Blue Bluff Beauty. It is located south of Bayfield on the shore of Lake Huron. The setting was ideal but the cottage left a lot to be desired. It seemed apparent that the owner seriously neglected routine maintenance. The next and subsequent years, we rented a cottage called First on Elmslie. It is located at the opposite end of the same street. While it is definitely "a cottage", it is clean and reasonably well maintained. 
The main street of Bayfield is populated by restaurants, galleries and souvenir
shops. Everything is well maintained and very picturesque.
